Waste Prevention and Management Act of Bhutan, 2009
This legislation mitigates waste generation in Bhutan and encourages the sustainable use and recycling of waste. It states that the waste management is overseen by the National Environment Commission and defines the functions of other agencies involved in waste management. Chapter 3 contains provisions for Medical Waste disposal. The law is bolstered by the National Guideline on Infection Control and Medical Waste Management, a supporting document that is not legally binding.
